 I posted a survey on my Instagram story to gauge the kind of audience I would be targeting with my music video. Below are screenshots with the statistics.

To get myself in the right creative headspace for my animation, I looked at various animation styles that I thought fit the mood I was trying to convey. The shows that I took inspiration from were "6Teen", "Downtown" and "The Boondocks". I wanted to get the 90s/2000s skater look right, at least for my reference sheets, before I started animating. I also wanted the anime-inspired aesthetic used in "The Boondocks", because it would be easier to animate than the other artstyles (less detail in faces, but still expressive, and shorter limbs for a more cartoony look)
