Target Audience and How to Reach Them

Entry 3 Target audience. It's a huge factor in how the magazine should be designed, and marketed, and the content in it, too. My target audience would mainly be people aged 15 to 25, or anyone interested in comics and art, whether for their career, or just their entertainment and curiosity. The audience should also get a chance to interact with, and contribute to the magazine, through art, photography and writing competitions, and submissions for one-shot comics (short story comic, only one issue). Since most of the target audience would be on the Internet, social media would be a good way to announce events and updates regarding the magazine. However, the outliers of the demographic (older people) could be reached through TV and newspaper ads.

Ideas for content

Entry 2 I really would  like my magazine to cover topics like art, comics, manga, stuff that interests me. Maybe it could contain short comics, following small characters, like Shujaaz (local), or Archie comics (international). The stories could cover social issues, like Shujaaz does, it could have slice-of-life stories, like Archie, or just be an anthology of short comics, published every month.  Aside from just comics, the magazine could contain tips from story and art professionals, catering to the story enjoyers and aspiring storytellers alike. I think both physical copies and an official website would make content more accessible to a larger audience, not just local, but international as well. It should be noted that I still don't have a name for this magazine (o_o). Below are a  couple of magazines that inspired my idea.

Welcome Post & Introduction

Entry 1 I know it's late, don't judge me. Hi, I'm Baraka. *insert Mortal Kombat joke here* I go to Nairobi International School, and this is my Media Studies blog.  I plan for this blog to be an artistic space, and I hope for my final magazine to feature other young creatives, whether their area is music, or filmmaking, or drawing, the interesting stuff. Of course, I'd have to narrow a lot of the topics down, but this is just an outline. At first I wanted it to be a comic magazine, but that would be difficult to fit into the criteria.  In terms of design, I don't want it to be too simplistic, or minimalistic (why do rich people like to cosplay as poor? I don't know, something about minimalism makes me uncomfortable.). The closest comparison I'd have would be Black Panther or Arcane, a lot of dark-ish colours with occasional contrast. I want to use mixed media, like photography and drawing in the same image. Content would consist of a lot of images, maybe a ...
